State and many health-corporate vacancies use Queensland streams. The administrative stream steps from AO2 up through AO8 before Senior Officer and the Senior Executive Service. Professional and operational roles, including some engineering and environmental jobs in government, use professional or technical labels. Nursing and health-practitioner roles use clinical streams. Leadership Competencies for Queensland are Vision, Results and Accountability, at the leadership stream the role description names.

Mackay public sector work is regional: health administration, schools, housing, police-related corporate support, transport, water and environment. AO3 and AO4 work is the procedure and the counter or the inbox. AO5 and AO6 work is a caseload or a local project. AO7 and Senior Officer work is a function for the region. Mine-site leadership does not automatically translate into an AO7 statement. The panel wants the public sector decision, the stakeholder and the result, at that classification.

Federal APS roles, where advertised, use APSJobs and a pitch or criteria against the Integrated Leadership System. A Queensland statement will not satisfy that ad. A mining résumé will not satisfy it either.

Mackay Hospital and Health Service includes Mackay Base Hospital, the region's main public hospital. Clinical résumés need the campus, the unit and registration. Emergency, surgical, medical, maternity, mental health and community health are different scopes. Mining-related trauma and occupational presentations are part of some clinical work. Describe the unit and the responsibility, not a slogan about the Basin.

Nursing, medical and allied-health roles follow the health classification on the advertisement, not the AO scale. Graduate and transition programs want placement evidence. Senior clinical roles want the team and the standard. Health-practitioner roles need the profession and the caseload.

Corporate roles in the health service can be AO or professional grades and are lodged through SmartJobs when they are Queensland Health vacancies. Those statements should show this health service. A Brisbane hospital example does not become a Mackay example because the applicant now lives in Andergrove or Rural View.

The Bowen Basin, inland from Mackay, is one of Australia's major metallurgical and thermal coal regions. Operators include the BHP Mitsubishi Alliance and other coal producers. People live in Mackay and work on a roster at mines around Moranbah, Dysart, Middlemount and neighbouring towns, or they work for the mining-services firms that overhaul plant in Mackay between shutdowns. A mining résumé needs the site or the operation, the roster, the crew or the package, the tickets, and the shutdown, the incident or the production result you were part of.

Hay Point Coal Terminal and Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal, south of the city, are the export path. Port, maintenance and commercial résumés need the terminal, the equipment and the outcome. They are closer to an industrial résumé than to a public sector letter. Mackay Sugar and the cane industry are a separate agricultural employer. Do not fold a mill résumé into a coal résumé.

Labour-hire histories fail when every assignment is a logo and a date. Name the site, the plant and what you held. Two pages that a supervisor can scan beat six pages of tickets with no scope. Keep the documents apart. The mining or terminal résumé is read for tickets, plant, roster and outcome. The SmartJobs statement is read against the role description, usually in one or two pages, using the Leadership Competencies that role actually lists. Some Queensland ads still want separate selection criteria. Write the item named on the advertisement.

A one-page APS pitch is neither of those. It is a federal claims statement against the Integrated Leadership System, at the length APSJobs sets. Sending a pitch to a Queensland panel, or a Basin résumé to a SmartJobs panel, fails before the experience is compared. Sending a capability letter to a mine supervisor fails the other way.

If you are moving off a roster into an AO or professional role in Mackay, the career-change document has to translate plant leadership into the public sector example without pretending a crew is a policy team. The facts stay honest. The labels change to the classification.
