You sent it. The portal said received. Two weeks later, nothing.
Did a person even open it?
Or did the file die in the software they use to throw résumés out?
That’s the pain
This is not “what is ATS”. You already know the portal ate it.
A pretty file with columns, icons, and a skills bar often arrives as noise. A photo in the header. Text sitting in a table. A job title the ad never used. The software cannot read it, so a person never does.
I will not quote a pass rate. If a stranger cannot copy the text off the page, the software usually cannot either.
A score will not write the week
A free ATS score can tell you the file is messy. It will not write the work you did. It will not put the job you want on line one.
If you want the score, use the free ATS score.
How we fix it
Send the résumé and the ad. We write a page a person can read, in words the job actually used, without the decorations that break the file.
That is human résumé writing. If you want a person on it, send it for a free résumé review. Pricing is there if you already know you want it written.
People who want the software explained can read the ATS page. This post is for the résumé that never got a human.
